P eople say that there’s no such thing as luck—that successful companies make their own luck. And sure, most of our luck comes in an edit bay at 3 a.m., or waking up out of a dead sleep and frantically jotting down ideas before they disappear.However it happens, we’ve enjoyed success, and we feel it’s important to share that success. That’s why we make it a point to do pro-bono or discounted work for deserving organizations. We’ve supported a number of worthy organizations through the years, either with our checkbook or our talent, including The Bringing Hope Foundation (single mom education/career support), Mothers Without Borders (AIDS orphans foundation in South Africa), Neighborhood Housing Services (promoting home ownership and neighborhood building) and others. In the past year alone, MediaWorks has donated time, money and resources to help raise more than $400,000 for Casa Rosada, an orphanage serving children who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS in the Dominican Republic.
